Our Jesuit approach to education focuses on the care and development of the whole person or"cura personalis."
The Marquette business degree is professional education for a life time of leadership in business and society. Ethics are a key component to the curriculum. Students are required to take two ethics courses and each business course includes some ethical dimension. The Liberal Arts focus allows students to take almost half of their coursework from arts and sciences, including English, history, mathematics, philosophy, theology, languages, and electives. The entire educational experience emphasizes writing and speaking skills. Small class size allows for case discussions, papers, and presentations. The average business class is approximately 30 students. Course availability is a high priority in the College. Courses are available for students to graduate in four years. Marquette
has been nationally recognized for its outstanding graduation rate. Personal
attention is at the heart of Jesuit education. Marquette business students
have one on one faculty advising sessions at least twice a year. All business
faculty are required to have at least six hours of office hours weekly
available for students to discuss coursework, advising, career development,"
employment opportunities, and other needs of the student. Individual attention
is given to each applicant at applicant at the time of admissions and we
admit
students directly into the College of Business Administration as freshman.
Nationally recognized for the quality of teaching and research, the College of Business Administration graduates and students benefit from a long tradition of excellence and success in the business world. Focus on undergraduate education is exemplified by the fact that 100% of faculty teach undergraduate courses. Courses emphasize professional student development by focusing on written and oral communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, technological literacy, and ethics. Excellent job opportunities exist for our graduates. The College enjoys a 98% placement rate of students within six months of graduation; 81% in their first choice position. Marquette has a top 10 International Business program with a comprehensive curriculum and over 15 Marquette University sponsored study abroad opportunities. Cutting edge faculty research and research centers serve students and the business community. Technology and computer use is integrated throughout the business curriculum. |
