Dr. Smiley is currently a member of the Board of Advisors for The Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics; an Associate Editor for The Review of Austrian Economics; a Contributing Editor for The Independent Review: A Journal of Political Economy; and a Policy Advisor for The Heartland Institute. He was president of the Economic and Business Historical Society (EBHS) in 1998 and was secretary-treasurer of the EBHS from 1998-2003.
