Other Information:
Joseph Daniels has been at Marquette University since 1990 and was promoted to Associate Professor of Economics in 1997. He earned his BS in Business Economics from Ball State University and his Masters’ and PhD from Indiana University. His research interests include international monetary and fiscal policy, exchange rate arrangements, and policymaking by the G8 countries. Professor Daniels is a member of the G8 Research Group at the University of Toronto, has attended several of the annual economic summits as a media representative, and is frequently interviewed by television, radio, and print media during the summits. He has authored or co-edited 4 books on the role of the G8 in the global economy. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Toronto in 1997-98, where he was involved in seminars and research on policymaking of the then G7 countries. Professor Daniels has published numerous articles in journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of International Money and Finance and the Journal of Economics and Business, and has contributed to nearly a dozen books. He has also authored two textbooks on international trade and finance. Daniels was the inaugural recipient of the College’s Faculty Teaching Award and was the recipient of Marquette University’s Gettel Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence in 1999.
