MBA Program - Downtown

The College of Business Administration welcomes your interest in our high quality Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. The College of Business Administration focuses on the highest quality, experienced students. We have designed our program to cover the functional areas of business. Our curriculum is relevant, practical and state-of-the art. The Marquette University M.B.A. degree is AACSB accredited, and part of the Jesuit network of schools, which offers diversity and options for students facing potential transfers or moves outside the Milwaukee area.

The M.B.A. program offers you the finest education with top-notch faculty, who are: state of the art researchers, excellent, dedicated teacher, accustom to working with adult students and are consultants in business. Marquette University faculty are accessible to their students.

Our program caters to the working professional. We understand your busy schedule; therefore, we offer a flexible program. Our courses are taught one evening per week, Monday through Thursday, typically 5:45 - 8:25 p.m. and on Saturdays, with flexible schedule to allow you to attend class and still have some Saturdays free for you and your family.

We are dedicated to quality, both in education and service to our customers - you! We have a full-time advisor, spending 100% of her time to meet the needs of the graduate business students. We are available via phone, e-mail and fax.

Application Process and Requirements:

The successful completion of a four-year undergraduate degree with a recommended GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) is necessary for enrollment in the MBA program.

Students may apply for Regular Degree, Temporary Degree, or Non-degree status. It is recommended that students apply for Regular Degree status when possible.

Applicants for Regular Degree status must submit all materials directly to the Graduate School of Management:

  • A completed application form and $40 fee.
  • Official transcripts from all current and previous colleges except Marquette.
  • Official test scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
  • Essay questions on page 2 of the application form.
  • Résumé or job profile.

(Additional requirements for international applicants only):

  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Official TOEFL score or other acceptable proof of English proficiency.

For applicants for Temporary Degree status, which is valid for one semester only:

  • A completed application form and $40 fee received by Marquette including résumé and essay responses.
  • Official or unofficial transcripts from previous colleges or universities received by Marquette.
  • GMAT scores are not required, but date of scheduled exam is requested.
  • Recommendation letters are optional (except international students and students applying for selected programs, such as, Executive MBA and MSEM).

For applicants for Non-degree status (for students taking courses for professional development with no intention of earning a degree):

  • A completed application form and $40 fee received by Marquette including résumé and essay responses.
  • Official or unofficial transcripts from previous colleges or universities received by Marquette.
  • GMAT scores are not required.
  • Recommendation letters are optional (except international students and students applying for selected programs, such as, Executive MBA and MSEM).

(International applicants on an F-1 visa are not eligible for this status.)

Program Requirements

TOTAL PROGRAM = 40 TO 50 CREDIT HOURS (Note: Minimum required with the maximum Foundation and Core Course exemptions = 34 hrs)

Time to Complete on a Part-Time basis: Minimum = 1.5 years; Maximum Allowed = 6 years; Average = 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years
