FOUNDATION COURSES
(0 TO 10 CREDIT HOURS)

  • (BUAD 201) Economics Foundations -- 2 credits
  • (BUAD 202) Accounting Foundations -- 2 credits
  • (BUAD 203) Mathematics Foundations -- 2 credits
  • (BUAD 204) Statistics Foundations -- 2 credits
  • (BUAD 205) Information Technology Foundations -- 2 credits

**NOTE: Students may be exempted from each Foundation course with the appropriate academic background (i.e., Two appropriate courses in the area for Economics, Accounting and Math; One appropriate course in Statistics and IT; Undergraduate courses must be taken at an accredited institution, within the last 10 years with a grade of C or better.)

Recommended sequencing of the Quantitative  courses is : BUAD 210, 230 then 250.

**NOTE: Students may be exempted and/or waived from Core courses in fields in which they hold an undergraduate major only, within the last 10 years.

ELECTIVE CORE COURSES

  • Business Strategy (BUAD 290) -- any section, 3 credits

ELECTIVE COURSES
(10 CREDIT HOURS)

Nine credits of free electives and one credit of "skills" courses (BUAD 291) are required. BUAD 291 Skills courses range from topics such as negotiations, conflict management, and presentation skills to SAS, SPSS and GIS courses. Students can take up to 4 credits of skills courses.

Students may choose to earn a specialization in areas such as Marketing, Human Resources, Applied Economics, etc., or they may choose to distribute their electives over a number of different fields. Students may also choose graduate electives from outside of the College of Business or even outside of the University with prior approval. Courses taken in the elective core and in the elective section can be used toward a specialization. Only courses taken at Marquette University will count toward a specialization.

PROGRAM LENGTH

TOTAL PROGRAM = 40 TO 50 CREDIT HOURS
(Note: Minimum required with the maximum Foundation and Core Course exemptions = 34 hrs)

Time to Complete on a Part-Time basis:
Minimum = 1.5 years; Maximum Allowed = 6 years; Average = 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years

**Law classes may have specific prerequisites that must be met.  You will also need approval from the Law School prior to registering for Law courses.
