2008-2009 Projects
The organization will provide opportunities for undergraduates to travel to Honduras twice a year to assist local businesses in expanding, creating, or improving their current operations.
They will also hone their skills working with needy Milwaukee area businesses during the semester.
The intent is that by Fall 2010, we will establish coursework to formalize the educational materials and to ensure the longevity of this organization.
The student leadership is in the process of determining future brigade projects.
One example of a brigade is the establishment of a roadside marketplace selling produce for local women.
The women have asked for help with marketing, organizing, accounting, and forecasting their small business venture.
The Center will accept donations directly for the organization; any equipment or other opportunities you may have should be directed to the faculty director, Dr. Heather Kohls at heather.kohls@marquette.edu.
This unique interaction will not only offer a depth of perspective and resources, but will also facilitate the application of classroom knowledge to hands-on, real-world experience.
GBB is a unique volunteer organization that looks to assist communities in developing nations.
Our mission is to foster sustainable business practices by providing micro-enterprise solutions, while preserving cultural ideals.
