Projects
Marquette Global Business Brigades (GBB) looks to assess micro-business concerns and provide basic business solutions to rural micro-enterprises while preserving local culture.
Along with affiliate groups at other distinguished universities, the Marquette University team will recruit student volunteers and field professionals to assist in various projects in developing countries, such as Honduras and Guatemala.
We will then travel overseas to participate in a cultural exchange that will include the assessment of micro-enterprise problems and implementation of appropriate business solutions.
While the trips will occur on an annual or semi-annual basis, we intend to maintain communication and involvement with the visited community and project on a bi-monthly to monthly basis.
Furthermore, on-campus meetings will be held as needed among participating students, faculty, and business leaders.
Meetings will include discussion on the cultural, financial, and social impact and effects of our interaction with the Honduran community.
Furthermore we will asses both the success and appropriateness of our proposed business solutions.
We look to include knowledge and expertise from faculty and outside business leaders.
Faculty and business leaders will serve as resources to us; both guiding our overall vision and purpose of this cultural exchange as well as offering practical advise on proposed business solutions .
This unique interaction will not only offer a depth of perspective and resources, but will also facilitate the application of classroom knowledge to hands-on, real-world experience.
